How do I Bid in an Auction? [top]

Once you've found a property you like you'll probably want to bid on it. The process is pretty simple. Just follow the steps below.

Step 1. Log in to your 2bid2 account [top]

The first thing you'll need to do to place a bid is make sure you're logged in to your 2bid2 account. Click on the Log In link at the top of any page to log in.

Step 2. Register to Bid for your selected Auction [top]

Once you've found the property you want to bid on you'll need to register to participate in that Auction. There is a small fee of $5.00 for this which covers the SMS and email notifications sent to you to keep you informed about the auction's progress. Once your payment has been made via credit card you'll be ready to bid.

Step 3. Select a Bid type [top]

Now that you're ready to bid you can select the kind of bid you want to place. There's three different types of bids - a “Regular Bid”, a “Power Bid”, and a “One Hour Auction Bid” - each having different features. Click here to read more about Bid types.

Step 4. Enter your Bid [top]

When entering your Bid be sure to put the full amount, including cents and any commas, into the “Your Bid” field. This will help you make sure you've correctly entered your preferred figure.

You'll notice that there may already be a figure in the “Your Bid” field for you. This is just the next Bid that can be placed for that auction. You can just overwrite that if you want to enter a different amount.

Step 5. Confirm your Bid [top]

After you've entered your preferred Bid amount you'll be asked to confirm it by entering the amount again in the “Enter Again to Confirm” field. This is to make absolutely sure you don't enter an amount you don't want to.

Remember, the figure you enter in the “Enter Again to Confirm” field must be the same as the figure in the “Your New Bid” field.

When your Bid is placed you'll get a message to let you know it's been saved.

If your Bid is a “Regular Bid”, a “One Hour Auction Bid”, or you've had a Bid placed on your behalf via a “Power Bid” it will appear in the “Bid History” for the auction.

What are the different types of Bids I can place? [top]

What is a “Regular Bid”? [top]

A “Regular Bid” is the most basic type of Bid you can make. If accepted this Bid will appear publicly on the Bid History for the Auction straight away.

What is a “Power Bid”? [top]

A “Power Bid” (or “Proxy Bid”) is a private Bid you can make to ensure you Bid within your limit.

Say you want to Bid as high as $500,000. Just place a “Power Bid” at that amount. If accepted this Bid will be saved straight away and no one else will know what it is except for you.

From then on whenever anyone else Bids in the same Auction if your “Power Bid” of $500,000 is higher than theirs 2bid2 will place Bids on your behalf automatically.

These automatic Bids will be placed whenever they need to be until you are the Highest Bidder or exceed your “Power Bid” limit.

What is a “One Hour Auction Bid”? [top]

For some auctions you may be able to place a “One Hour Auction Bid”.

The amount for a “One Hour Auction Bid” is set by the owner of the property at a level they're happy to sell the property for. If you make one of these Bids it will mean the property will be “On The Market” straight away.

Once you place a “One Hour Auction Bid” the auction will end in approximately One Hour and there'll be a good chance that you'll be the Winning Bidder.
